There have been reports that a programme called BEAR SHARE installs a little extra widget called SAVE NOW. This programme apparently causes problems for auto disconnect with IE and OE - preventing the appearance of the 'do you want to disconnect now' message. For more problems with Bearshare, look here

SVCHOST.EXE has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need
to re-start the program. An error log will be generated.
You may also receive the following error message when you try to start your
computer:
The system process C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\SERVICES.EXE terminated unexpectedly with
status code 128.
If you can start your computer, other programs may generate similar error
messages or exhibit unusual behavior.
